All of our physiotherapists and massage therapists are certified and registered with their respective colleges of Ontario.
How long is each Physiotherapy appointment?
Clients can expect the initial assessment to be one hour and subsequent visits to last 20-45 minutes. Varies with each client.
Do you bill directly to my extended health care (EHC) insurance?
Yes, we do bill directly to some insurance companies. Not all insurance companies allow for direct billing. If it is allowed, we will gladly bill directly. If not, then the client is responsible to pay after each visit, and they will be provided with an invoice with all the appropriate information to submit for reimbursement.

- Industrial Alliance (We can submit on clients behalf. However, we require payment upfront as payment goes directly to the client.)
- Desjardins (We can submit on clients behalf. However, we require payment upfront as payment goes directly to the client.)
Do I need a doctor referral?
No. However, if we are direct billing on your behalf and your insurance company requires a referral we will ask for a copy. Please check with your insurance company or we can do it for you.
What should I wear to my appointments?
The client should wear attire they feel comfortable in, preferably, shorts and a t-shirt. If having your neck or shoulder examined it is preferred to wear a tank-top.
How long until my recovery?
This varies with each client. Your registered physiotherapist will provide you with more details for your recovery.
Can I have a massage and physiotherapy appointments on the same day?
Yes, depending on the recommendation of your doctor or physiotherapist.
How many appointments a week should I have?
This will be discussed with your therapist during the initial assessment. Typically patients come 1-3 times a week, depending on the condition.

Does Competitive Edge Physiotherapy only deal with sports related injuries?
No. We accept all clients from WSIB, Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA), repetitive strain injuries, pre/postnatal clients, etc.
Is registered Kinesiology covered through my extended health benefits?
Each client’s coverage is different. Depending on the insurance company, we can call on your behalf and get your coverage details for you. However, Kinesiology cannot be billed directly so our clients are expected to pay for the service and submit on their own.
